It’s easy to be distracted by memories of yesterday or worries about tomorrow.
When this happens we miss out on the here and now.
Your breath can help you reconnect with the here and now so that you can be present with yourself and the world around you.
Take a comfortable seat where you can sit up tall and relax your shoulders.
Allow yourself to breathe normally for the first few rounds as you settle in. Deepen and lengthen your breath steadily.
When you’re ready, take a deep breath in and hold the memory of yesterday in your mind.
As you exhale, imagine blowing the memory of yesterday away.
Take a deep breath in and hold the worries of tomorrow in your mind.
As you exhale, imagine blowing the worries of tomorrow away.
Take a deep breath in and hold the wonder of today in your mind.
As you exhale, allow the wonder of today to settle into your body.
        Repeat steps 3-8 as needed.
When you’re ready to exit, allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm. Notice how your body feels.
